Green Beans with a Kick


250gms green beans

1 ltr of water

2 rashers of Henderson's Bacon

1/4 tsp of chilli flakes or as desired

1/2 tsp of salt

3 cloves of garlic

1 tbsp olive oil


Step 1

Cook rashers of bacon until crispy and set aside on a paper towel. Once cooled, crumble in the paper towel.

Step 2

Boil water in a pot until bubbling. Add beans and boil on a medium heat for 5 minutes.

Step 3

While beans are cooking, chop garlic finely and add to oiled fry pan. Fry garlic and add chilli flakes as desired.

Once garlic is starting to brown, drain beans and put them straight into the hot pan.

Step 4

Stir fry quickly and add crumbled bacon for one last toss in the pan.

To serve - Put on a serving dish to accompany your meal or add straight to your plate for a quick, healthy and manuka smoked side dish. You could add extras like crumbed feta or toasted nuts to suit.
